Quality rating - Respondents to the survey were asked "In general, how would you rate the quality of each of the following public services in [COUNTRY]?" 7 public services are rated on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 indicating 'very poor quality', and 10 indicating 'very high quality' (Health services, Education system, Public transport, Childcare services, Long-term care services, Social housing, State pension system). Disability - The 'European Quality of Life' survey does not use the (GSS) harmonised "core" definition for disability. Where the GSS harmonised questions ask about physical or mental health conditions lasting or expected to last 12 months or more, the European Quality of Life survbey asks for any chronic (long standing) physical or mental health problems expected to last for 6 months or more. |

Data are collected from the Eurofound 'European Quality of Life Survey'. Income is presented by income quartiles (from lowest income quartile 1 to highest income quartile 4), which were calculated based on equivalised income in PPP euros for the respondents who provided this information. Cases with missing values (for example when asked for respondents perceived quality of services, they answered "don't know", or refused to answer spontaneously) have been included in the calculations where the respondent has rated at least three services. Where there were fewer than fifty responses from a group, the results are not shown. This indicator is being used as an approximation of the UN SDG Indicator. Where possible, we will work to identify or develop UK data to meet the global indicator specification. This indicator has been identified in collaboration with topic experts. |
